Source Code?

Source Code?
Has anyone been able to confirm that we got a copy of the source code as CTC has said?
I have read about many problems people are seeing and if we have the source then I could help fix the bugs.

Re: Source Code?
That's a good point. I just double-checked, and I don't see any signs of source code on the SD card.
I did notice that when I connect it to my computer, the ForMaker shows up as a "MightyBoard." MightyBoard is the open hardware/firmware from the original Makerbot Replicator. If that means the ForMaker is in fact a derivative of the GPL'd MightyBoard firmware (I haven't investigated enough to say for certain one way or the other), then CTC is likely in violation of the GPL if they don't post the firmware.
Assuming CTC isn't checking this board themselves yet, you should copy the question to them via Kickstarter and/or Email and let us know if you get a response.
Having the source code will definitely be key to long-term viability of this printer. In addition to bugfixes, it would be good to have the ability to add other modes to the printer in the future.
I don't know if I'll ever actually have the time to try this, but one idea I had is to build some sort of roller/feeder to enable usage of the CNC or Laser features on longer pieces - which would likely require custom code to drive. Taking that a step further, a powered roller plus a fixed blade in place of the CNC head might let us add Vinyl cutting to the set of functions.

Re: Source Code?
Posted it on Kickstarted.
Lets see what they say.
Regarding the laser feeder. Its fully possible since the unit has 5 stepper motors.
But it will need software modification to work.
