Hi!
That's really cool! Thanks for sharing the extension.
I just gave it a try. Working perfekt. Much faster than the "original" Formaker extension. It is even working with Hershey-generated single stroke text (which didn't work with CTC's extension).
Will further test in the coming days but on first sight that's a big improvement!
Thanks once again!

Re: Inkscape-Plugin: FormakerLaser
Is there any reason why you only can run 10 passes?
I know that you could run the program for more times than one but would be nice if you don't have to start it all over again if you need more than 10 passes.
I am in love with this inkscape plugin!!!

I have fixed it. Reinstall the plugin and you can run up to 1000 passes.

Re: Inkscape-Plugin: FormakerLaser
Hello all together,
i have now started to use the laser-function of the formaker and right now the laser works but i have one problem with scaling. When i draw a rectangle with 150mm x 100mm in Inkscape, run the formaker laser plugin and let it convert from gcode to x3g with replicatorG it is being scaled by an unknown factor. It is a little big bigger like 160x106 so ~5-6% bigger. Can anyone help me with this problem?
How can i check the problem cause?

Hello again, i found out that the formaker laser plugin created the 0,0,0 -- 100,0,0 reference point at wrong size. I don't know how it is created and why it has the wrong size. probably i have a wrong setting in inkscape?
How can i check the size of the reference marks and correct it? Right now I did this roughly by hand but to get precise i need to set it as numeric values.
Thanks for your help!

Re: Inkscape-Plugin: FormakerLaser
I changed the generation of the orientation marker and uploaded a new version(v1.0.3).
1. Reinstall the plugin
2. Set the document-units to mm
3. Run the plugin once to generate the orientation marker
You can use the messure-tool to messure the distance between the two arrow tips. It should be 100 mm.
Please report if it works.

Hi Chef2
Really awesome and simple code.
I am trying to get the plugin to make code for running on my flash forge creator pro. After scaling it seems to work fine. Have you updated the code for the scaling issue?
I am trying to make the plugin to create code for my 3D printer modified to a mini PCB router. If my experiments work, many more users with similar machines would be able to use your plugin for making plotters and small mills using the 3D printers they already have.
Can you help me in adding a router option to your code which would add a tool up and tool down code, like the 'Gcodetools' plugin.
Thank you

Hi John L,
Run the plugin once on a blanc canvas. This will generate the orientation marker.

Gregster

Re: Inkscape-Plugin: FormakerLaser
OK, with the orientation marker on the canvas, place some paths and re-run the laser plugin. This time the generated file will show the gcode for the placed paths.
Note that you might have to transform certain objects to paths (e.g. normal fonts or inserted pixel graphics).
I might do a recording if you still need support - just need to find some time for that.

Gregster
