Inkscape laser engraver extension

Post by gregster on Sun Mar 20, 2016 4:47 am

Hi,

Does anyone know where to get the "Laserengraver" Extension which is described in the formaker manual?
It is not part of the standard Inkscape installation.

Or does anyone have an alternative way to create laser engraving or cutting paths with Inkscape? The description in the manual sounds a bit complicated - maybe there is an easier process.

Thanks,
Gregster

Found the following Laser engraving/cutting extension for Inkscape http://jtechphotonics.com/?page_id=1980.
Just wondering what the correct commands for ON and OFF are - M03 and M05? Does anyone know?

Regards,
Gregster

You can use G03 and G05 and the CTC-GT software.
1. Generate the gcode with G03 and G05
2. Change the fileextension from.gcode to .nc
3. Use the CTC-GT software to convert the .nc file to a .gcode file
4. Use ReplicatorG to convert the .gcode file to a .x3g file
